No more school!

Yep, I'm done. I had my last class yesterday. Hurrah! I turned in my hypothetical collection development policy manual (hypothetical in that it wasn't for a real library, not in the I-only-pretended-to-write-it sense) and struggled to stay awake through a discussion of copyright, and then happily went home. Of course, my project looked very puny next to everyone elses -- it was around twenty pages, give or take, but one woman wrote more than 100 pages! They all had binders with dividers and fancy covers, while mine had a simple staple. I consoled myself with the thought that I didn't need to rely on whistles and bells. At this point, I really don't care what grade I get on the project. I worked hard on it, and I think it's pretty good, but... honestly, I don't care. My grade point average is high enough that I probably could have gotten away with not doing it at all. I didn't test that theory, of course, but still.

I'm just starting to get enthusiastic about Christmas. I haven't done any shopping yet, except for a few little things for my mom (and some plotting with my brother, involving our present for her -- I can't tell you what it is yet, because she reads my journal -- hi, Mom! -- but she'll like it. Whee!) I'm going to hit the mall tomorrow, and I'm fully expecting it to be awful. I'm not buying things for many people, so I'm hoping to get in and out before the crowds drive me mad. I need to finish an afghan I'm making for some friends in England -- I feel bad, because I got a lovely box of surprises from them earlier this week, and I haven't even mailed them a card yet. They're very sweet -- J. is my ex's best friend, and S. is his new wife. When Barry and I broke up, I emailed each of them to let them know what was going on. I didn't expect to hear from them again -- after all, they barely know me. But I got a very sweet reply from both of them, assuring me that I was still their friend, and they've certainly proved it. I got home Wednesday, grumpy from having to clomp all over Cambridge looking for a printer cartridge, and found a box filled with wedding pictures, a card, a very cute mug with cartoon cats on it, white chocolate cocoa mix (which I have become completely addicted to), a lollipop shaped like a chicken in a Santa hat, and some other goodies. So, now I need to hurry and finish this afghan, and get it off in the mail to them.

Speaking of Christmas, if you want a card from me (possibly on time!) email me! I've got a box of cards waiting to be sent... get me your address by Monday, and I'll send one to you!
